Their impressive size places them among the most imposing mammals of their species after the polar bear. The Pyrenean bear can measure up to 2 meters and weigh between 120 and 200 kilos. It is one of the most powerful land animals on the planet! This omnivore feeds mainly on plants, berries and fruits. However, it sometimes devours insects (ants, bees, etc.) or small mammals. In order to survive the winter, the Pyrenean bear feeds intensively throughout the summer before returning to its den and beginning its hibernation from November to March. Its life expectancy is between 20 and 25 years.
