Our rosehip powder contains wild rosehips of the species Rosa Canina with kernels, pulp and skins that have been dried at room temperature to preserve the vital substances as best as possible. The rosehips are picked in Macedonia, Germany, Bulgaria and elsewhere in Europe. We try to keep the transport distances as short as possible for the sake of the environment. The rosehip is one of the most vitamin-rich sources known, with up to 60 times more vitamin C than citrus fruits. In just one hectare of dried rosehips, there are 1600 mg of potassium, 310 mg of calcium, 270 mg of vitamin C, 240 mg of magnesium, 7000 mg of carotenoids and 1170 mg of retinol equivalents of vitamin A in the form of fat-soluble antioxidants. Rosehips are commonly called Fructus Cynosbati cum (Latin for "fruit with core"). Rosa Canina, or Stenros, grows wild along the coastal bands in Denmark and Sweden, among other places, so it is excellent to pick yourself during the season. The shrubs live on nutrient-poor soils such as on slopes, in thickets, on roadsides. There are similar edible rosehip roses also inland.
