Bird Mix Seedball Tin

Each tin contains 20 seed balls which will provide coverage for 1 square metre in a garden, or 3-5 medium sized pots. Each ball contains approximately 30 seeds per ball from a mix of Bird Mix includes seeds for Corn Marigold, Common Poppy, Greater Knapweed, Sheep Sorrel, Tufted Vetch, and Wild Carrot. Best scattered in Spring or Autumn. This mix includes wildflowers that are perfect for attracting birds to our gardens to feed on seeds and insects. According to the RSPB, a lack of habitat and food abundance has lead to huge decline (over 50% in the last 45 years) of many common UK garden bird species. The careful selection of plants will boost the food supply for a wide range of birds including goldfinches, blue tits, chaffinches, greenfinches, robins, starlings, increasing the number of birds seen in your garden. Whilst in bloom the flowers will attract insects that many birds feed on, while birds will also feed directly on the plants and seeds themselves. We make the seed balls ourselves from our HQ in North London - from a mixture of UK native wildflower seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chilli powder. The outer clay protects the seeds from ants, birds and mice, and once sufficient water has permeated the clay, the seeds inside begin to germinate - helped along by the nutrients and minerals contained within the ball. The chilli powder continues to deter slugs and snails while the seed ball slowly degrades and the seeds sprout. All wildflowers are listed by the RHS as 'Plants for Pollinators'.
