Porcelain figures depicting Sleeping Beauty. The eldest wears a pink flowered dress with a wide skirt and bustier, a blouse with wide short sleeves and a golden tiara in her hair. She keeps her arms resting on a stool covered with an aquamarine-colored cloth decorated with delicate butterflies, and she sleeps with her head in her arms and her legs stretched out to the side. The youngest wears a pink flower dress with a wide, high-waisted skirt, a gathered pink top, and a golden tiara in her hair; she sleeps lying down, with her head softly resting on an aquamarine pillow. Note on the collection Every detail of the FIABE collection has been studied based on drawings from different period editions of traditional fairy tales, looking for the elements common to most and translating them into the form seen here. Every object produced by Sibania is absolutely unique both in the creation of each individual piece and in the production technique which is unmatched and which makes it difficult to imitate. These items are entirely modeled and painted by hand in our laboratory in the province of Vicenza (Italy). The clothes are thin sheets of porcelain, on which textures are imprinted. These sheets are cut according to the dress model and then patiently applied to the body of the statue. The hair styles are also handmade from time to time. On the "bisque" terracotta the faces, clothes and accessories are painted with non-toxic colours; the piece finally undergoes a further firing called "third fire". Any further details such as violin strings or wasp stands are applied at this point to the finished piece.
