Isidro Pereira, father of Luiz Paulo, purchased Fazenda IP in Brazil in 1967. 

At that time Luiz was pursuing his university studies which would lead him to obtain a degree in agricultural techniques before joining his father in managing the plantation. In 1974, precisely by Luiz Paulo's will, Fazenda IP began an expansion program which saw the quantity of cultivated land grow exponentially and consequently also the coffee plants. But the real turning point in Fazenda IP came when, decades later, it was decided to invest in a pulping machine and start studying and experimenting with new methods of processing coffee fruits to improve the quality of the harvest and produce beans that could be classified as Specialty Coffee. A company policy that rewards the farmers of the lots with higher scores and penalizes those with defects has meant that, after training on coffee processing methods and how these can improve the quality in the cup, all the coffee grown in the Fazenda IP has reached very high standards in terms of quality which has led it to reach the finals of the Brazilian Cup of Excellence several times in recent years. Of the over 700 hectares that make up Fazenda IP, 80 are designated as a rainforest and nature reserve where 12 springs originate. The Acaia variety that makes up this lot is a hybrid between Typica and Bourbon, very close genetically to Mundo Novo, another very widespread variety in Brazil. 

This variety gives its best between 800 and 1200m above sea level and is characterized by its large leaves and fruits which, once ripe, take on a beautiful bright red colour. Once harvested, the ripe fruits are dried on concrete patios for approximately 20/25 days until the drupe is completely dry. Like most coffees from Brazil, this is also a coffee that expresses its best in espresso, with a good creamy body, a fine acidity and a high sweetness with notes of milk chocolate, almond and raisins. When tasted according to the SCA protocol this lot obtained 83 SCA points.
