At Venezianas we work with Italian designers and artisans. We collaborate with local suppliers and professionals in the region where they are manufactured.
We care about following the tradition in the use of materials, looking for a final result that differentiates us as a special and distinguished product from the rest.
Our story begins in the Italian region of Friuli, in the 19th century when they were used as party or ceremony shoes. Over time they became a characteristic and essential element of life in Venice. Used mainly by nobles and gondoliers. Hence the name by which they are also known: "Venezianas".
Comfortable, non-slip and not harmful to wood, they were and are perfect for taking on boats, hence their popularity among the gondoliers of Venice. Their use by Venetian nobles also contributed to their popularity, who used them elegantly to receive guests in their palaces.
Over the years they have become a popular product, numerous artisans and designers have brought them to life with different varieties.
Velvets, prints, satins, silks and cottons, together with patterns and colours, have given them a unique personality.
We strive to continue the Italian tradition by adding our reinterpretation of the classics.
