He had a romantic cottage garden behind his old house and whenever he could find the time, he sat in his little paradise and tended his herbs and flowers. His other passion was cooking and enjoying the wonderful dishes of his homeland. Since he was a real scholar and expert in his field, he knew a lot about the power and effects of his flowers and spices. He also dealt with the traditional knowledge of vinegar and salt. And so one day he took the fruits and herbs from his garden and married them with the finest vinegar. Now he took ancient, powerful rock salt and simmered an exquisite elixir of exquisite taste from these ingredients. And he used this salty-sour extract to refine his favorite foods and dishes. The delicate sauce became popular everywhere and was known as FLEUR DE DOTTORE, the doctor's flowers. A few small drops in the sauce with asparagus vinaigrette, tuna carpaccio, vitello tornato, hearty vegetable casserole, raw fish, delicate shellfish, to spread on goose or duck breast, as a dip for vegetable sticks, fruity addition to strawberries or fruit salads, or else wonderful in meat or vegetable soup.
