Groix / Lighthouse of the Cats

The Pointe des Chats Lighthouse was built around 1897 on an old defense battery. This building of 15.22 m (17.92 m above sea level) was installed because of the many ships that were wrecked on the long rocky base of the Chats (name coming from the nickname given to these reefs by the Groisillons of the time), extending over more than a kilometer. Every night, the Phare des Chats warns sailors of the serious danger.
