Opened in 2008, the Cité de la voile Éric Tabarly, designed by architect Jacques Ferrier, is an emblematic site for the reconversion of the Lorient submarine base into a center dedicated to boating and offshore racing. The City stands out like a vessel moored by a long footbridge overlooking the sea to a light structure made of steel sections: the Tower of the Winds.
