END OF THE WORLD - AOP SAINT CHINIAN ROUGE “Selected by the Hachette Wine Guide 2024” Red color Vintage: 2021 Number of bottles produced: 8,000 bottles TERROIR Type of soil: Clay-limestone and sandstone Climate: Mediterranean under the influence of the last hillsides before the reliefs of Haut-Languedoc Yield: 35 hl/ha Density: 6000 plants/ha Age of vines: 40 years Cultivation practices: in organic conversion ASSEMBLY Grape varieties: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre These grapes come from our “Bout du Monde” vines, a lost place between Aude and Hérault. WINEMAKING Manual harvest – Extensive selection of grapes according to origin and maturity – Harvests completely destemmed – Fermentation in stainless steel vats – Natural vinification without input BREEDING A part is aged in ovoid concrete vats “Œufs de Beaune”; the other, in barrels of two wines TASTING An ode to the scrubland, to summer and its flavors, to the well-preserved biotope of Gragnos. A wine with deep ruby reflections, a dense, round and voluptuous wine which gives pride of place to summer fruits, morello cherries, raspberries and plums, punctuated with spices and empyreumatic notes: chocolate and coffee. The palate is structured with a depth and freshness specific to Château de Gragnos. An ideal wine to accompany a good meal with friends. Serving temperature: 15 – 16°C Keeping: 5 years
