This matcha was obtained from Gyokuro, a very sweet and subtle Japanese green tea, reduced to dust in a stone mortar. Since the whole plant is used and absorbed, this makes matcha the most concentrated tea in theine. It is used by Buddhist monks to better sustain their long hours of meditation. In the Japanese tea ceremony, 2g of matcha is poured with a bamboo scoop, or chashaku, into 200ml of water at 80-90°C. Then froth for 1 to 2 minutes with a bamboo or chasen whisk, making "8" in the bowl.
