Kumquat derivatives, is a small family business created in 2006 by the Delgado brothers. Located on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada, 10 km. from the Tropical coast, in the municipality of Vélez Benaudalla in the province of Granada.
This situation makes us have a singular and ideal climate for the cultivation of kumquat.
The kumquat is a variety of citrus, which has the peculiarity that the peel is sweet and can be eaten, but its pulp is acid like that of a lemon.
In our farms, we bet on the quality of our products, for this the crops are under a mesh structure, with which we achieve that the plants are not punished by atmospheric agents, especially by the wind and if we get a fruit of Larger in size with a thicker shell, which makes them more pleasant to eat fresh. We do all this with organic and global gap certification.
Under the Dekúm trademark, in our factory located within one of our farms we produce candied kumquat, which we macerate for a year so that the intensity of the acid is attenuated and the sugar is homogenized throughout the product, with this we achieve a Balanced product between acidity, bitterness and sweetness.
From this candied kumquat, we make different types of products such as jams, Chutney, etc... for kitchen applications, since being an orange it combines perfectly with chocolate, yogurt, cheese, avocado, cod, duck, etc...
