Founded in 1934 in Milly-la-Forêt, capital of aromatic and medicinal plants, Millymenthe is one of the most emblematic herbal shops in Ile-de-France, for all plant lovers around the world.
Millymenthe was created by Pierre Charbonnier, in collaboration with one of the last herbalists to have received the official herbalist diploma awarded in France.
Millymenthe was then run by Mauricette Clech, initially an employee of the shop and its new manager in the 1940s, for 64 years. She would become an icon for herbalism and the town of Milly-la-Forêt, delivering valuable advice and recipes for plants that had never been seen before over several generations.
In 2010, she passed the torch to Sabine Foughali, a graduate of the DU in Phytotherapy from the Faculty of Bobigny and former medical representative of major pharmaceutical companies. She will thus take over the management of this house which has become emblematic, in family collaboration for more than 4 years to then give way to her niece Victoria Renaud-Foughali, who will take the helm in 2015. The Foughali family will have the main vocation of perpetuating all the knowledge and authenticity of traditional herbalism, transmitted to him by his predecessors.
Victoria Renaud-Foughali will breathe new life into it while continuing to uphold Millymenthe's values in a modernized boutique that meets the needs of a more eclectic clientele made up of new plant enthusiasts and loyal customers for decades.
In September 2019, Millymenthe is launching a new challenge and pushing the doors of a new department: Hauts-de-Seine, to set up its second herbalist in Sceaux in the heart of the city. Located just 25 minutes from Paris, the little sister of Milly-la-Forêt aims to extend access to medicinal plants and natural treatments that are still not very present in France.
Anxious to bring conviviality to its herbal shops, Millymenthe will also develop the concept of "Tisane & tea Bar" in the Sceaux shop, where a beautiful indoor and outdoor tea room space allows our customers to come and taste one of our teas or one of our infusions accompanied by a slice of artisanal cake, in a pleasant and warm setting.
