Imported by the English and reinvented by Kenyans in 1963, the year of Kenyan independence, this robust tea offers spicy and tannic notes. It is produced in the CTC (Cut, Tear, Curl) style, which means the leaves are cut, torn and then rolled into tiny balls that almost look like coffee grounds.
