Chateau Lafont-Menaut - Pessac-Léognan Bordeaux Wine - Red Wine - Vintage 2019

Chateau Lafont-Menaut - Bordeaux Pessac-Léognan - Red Wine - Vintage 2019 Château Lafont Menaut is located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in the close vicinity of Crus Classés such as Latour-Martillac and Smith-Haut-Lafitte. In the 18th century, the lands of Lafont Menaut, already planted with vines, belonged to Charles de Secondat, Baron de Montesquieu, famous writer and winegrower. Since 1990, Philibert Perrin, alongside his work on the family property of Château Carbonnieux, has undertaken a replanting program to bring this ancestral vineyard back to life. Favored by its geographical location and exceptional exposure, the vineyard has 14 hectares planted producing red wines which are aged in oak barrels, which gives them finesse and complexity. Terroir: Grave Garonne hilltops Grape variety: Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting comments: To the south of the Cru Classé Smith-Haut-Lafitte, Château Lafont Menaut is one of the historical references of the appellation. The 2019 red bears witness to this, first on the fruit and spices, then with this characteristic toasted note. Volume and harmony in the mouth. A real wine of pleasure in its youth which can also age very well.
