Mix 5 INDIAN SPICES - eco

Our 5 INDIAN SPICE blend, also called "Pan Phoram Masala" is a blend widely used in Indian cuisine, particularly in the Bengal region.

This blend is often described as warm, sensual and slightly spicy, with a distinct anise note. It is made from a blend of spices that includes the following ingredients: Cumin which adds an earthy and slightly bitter flavor to the mixture.

Fennel which is a plant whose seeds have an aniseed and slightly sweet flavor.

Mustard seeds are often used to add a tangy, slightly bitter flavor.

Coriander Seeds: Coriander is an aromatic herb used in both leaf and seed form in Indian cuisine.

Coriander seeds have a lemony, slightly sweet flavor.

Nigella seeds have a slightly peppery flavor and a slight onion note.

As well as Fenugreek which has a distinctive and powerful taste, with bitter, earthy and slightly sweet notes.

Some people describe its aroma as slightly smoky.   These five main spices usually form the basis of the "Pan Phoram Masala" mixture.

However, it is important to note that the proportions and other spices added may vary from recipe to recipe.

The mixture is often roasted or lightly heated before use to reveal and intensify the flavors of the spices.

It can be used in a variety of dishes, including curries, stews and marinades, to add a signature flavor to Bengal Indian cuisine.
