THE ESSINGANAISE: Ndolé shrimp, 450G - NDOL450 Traditional dish of the Sawa people in Cameroon which has become a national dish. Ndolé is the Cameroonian name for food varieties of Vernonia, a very bitter plant known in Benin (Amanvivè) and Togo (Aloma), which only the Sawa people of Cameroon associate with meat, shellfish, peanuts and condiments to obtain a dish where s intermingle sweet, salty and bitter flavors. It is traditionally accompanied by miondo or bobolo (product derived from cassava), but can also be accompanied by rice or ripe plantain.
