It is probably because you want to know what I do, why I do it, and maybe also discover who I am, just to be sure not to get scammed. Well seen.
I'll start by making it short: at Frog Posters, I have set myself a mission: to decorate your walls with beautiful, useful and eco-friendly posters. Concretely, creating these posters requires hours of research, heated discussions, lots of coffee (or beer depending on the time!)and cruel choices.
And to limit Frog Posters' carbon footprint, my main weapon is printing on demand. This is what allows me to avoid waste and to print locally, as close as possible to where I deliver to you.
---Why am I doing all this?
Decor has become disposable, objects are often made far from home and we buy more and more of them, only to throw them in the trash.
So rather than simply noting that this world is going to hell, I prefer to focus on what I can improve. And what I can do is create a wall decoration that combines utility, aesthetics and respect for the environment.
To slow down. To rediscover the pleasure of learning. To share our knowledge together.
---A decor that makes sense
I defend the idea of learning spontaneously, by disconnecting from screens, to reconnect with our desires and at our own pace. The Frog Posters are an ode to the passionate, the curious, the bon vivants, to gaiety and to gentle madness.
I create few products to do them well: I prefer to give my all on a small number of posters rather than releasing a lot of average posters. And sometimes I create posters on topics I like, just because I want to.
---A decoration produced differently
All my products are entirely imagined and designed in France. And to limit the impact of transport and the thoughtless use of resources, I have them printed on demand in 24 countries, as close as possible to where they will be delivered.
I also chose to opt for FSC certified papers, which guarantee their traceability and responsible forest management.
---We are in the same boat
I prefer to remain transparent and guarantee fair prices throughout the year. This means that you won't find big discounts and that I won't artificially inflate my prices to better take advantage of sales and private sales.
I also donate part of my turnover to associations that need it, and this year it is VHL France that I am supporting.
---Who am I ?
I am Mélanie Bezot-Trottet, the founder and illustrator of Frog Posters. I started creating posters for my family and friends in 2017. The very first poster I created was the Beaufort Scale for my father, who loves windsurfing. Then I thought: why not create an online portfolio? Soon, visitors started asking me how to buy the posters, so I decided to create more and launch an online store.
With my wonderful husband Vincent, and my mischievous children Céleste and Timothée (who are now a little older than in the photo), I put down my suitcases in Charleval in Provence after passing through Lyon and Angers. I have a group of happy and boisterous girlfriends who support me or put me back in my place, depending on their mood.
I hate the smell of patchouli, duck mouth selfies, people who say "no offense", flesh-colored leggings and cat videos. I love summer thunderstorms, reading by the fire, cooking weird recipes, and drinking rosé on the terrace.
