SOUK in the CITY is a label of unique & colorful Moroccan craftsmanship.
As a passionate distributor, I've been handpicking and carefully curating handmade Berber rugs, baskets, small & bright-colored decor for many years.
I personally source all one-of-a-kind items and have built trusted relationships with local craftsmen and dealers. Through more than 20 years of travels and personal interest, I have acquired on-the-ground expertise and strong ties to the wonderful country that Morocco is. I work closely with the artisans, curating the best of the best and also designing my own collections while supporting local traditions.
I’m especially proud of my own collections of unique, upcycled cushions and poufs: giving new life to vintage Moroccan rugs, kelims and other pre-loved fabrics. Wonderfully worn, full of color and character. Perfectly imperfect; the ultimate in sustainable home wares. Handmade in Marrakech by our preferred maâlems.
Due to the vintage nature of many of our pieces - irregularities in shape, texture and color, and signs of age and wear should be expected and not considered as faults.
As I also have my own boutique in handmade worldly decor, I know very well what customers are looking for, but also what is important for shops: knowing the story behind all items, being able to explain their origin and spreading the love of the craftsmanship.
