La Viña de ayer Garnacha 2018

Grapes: Garnacha 100%. Area: Old vineyards from DOP Cebreros-Sierra de Gredos, Avila. Wine type: 12 months aged red wine. Winery: SotoManrique Bodega Alcohol: 14% ABV Vineyards: Bush old vines, in granitic and slate soils, rounded by pine trees between 750-1060 meters above sea level. Wine making: Cooling of the grapes in chambers at 0º and the alcoholic fermentation happens in concrete tanks, depending on the sub-zone, which is mainly determined by the soil, but also by the altitude and landscape. 100% of the vinifications are spontaneous fermentation. The ageing is done in 150hl wooden vats and 160hl concrete tanks keeping each subzone separate. The ageing process lasts 12 months. The final blend was decided in October 2019. The wine is filtered only once light filtering and bottling with a very low level of SO2 Tasting notes: Ruby, bright and clean colour. Fresh red fruits aromas, with some floral touches. Very Garnacha varietal. Really fresh in the mouth, light but with a good length and an excellent acidity. Vertical, juicy and tasty wine.
