Tazemza: A Land, Women, a History of Ceramics
Tazemza, a name that resonates like an ode to the land. This word, from our Tunisian heritage, designates a unique type of earth, a subtle mixture of clay and plaster. Inspired by this hybrid material, I created Tazemza to transform the earth into works of art carrying history and know-how, while promoting the community that supports me.
The story of Tazemza was born in the south of Tunisia, where the desert, the sea and the mountains shape an identity deeply rooted in the land. It is in this context that I founded my workshop, driven by a vision: to honor ancestral ceramic techniques while reinventing them to express a contemporary identity. Each piece sold under the Tazemza brand bears the trace of this history, that of a thousand-year-old heritage reinterpreted by my creativity.
My move to France opened a new chapter. By settling here, I wanted to broaden the horizons of Tazemza, to bring my Tunisian roots into dialogue with new inspirations drawn from my current environment. From now on, Tazemza lives between two territories: Tunisia, land of memory, authenticity and transmission, and France, land of innovation, encounter and international openness. This dual belonging enriches my artistic approach and gives my creations a new depth: they reflect a constant back and forth between two cultures.
Behind each piece lies my vision and my designs, carefully crafted by a team of talented women in our Tunisian workshop. Their ancestral know-how and their passion give substance to my ideas, while my presence in France allows me to develop a contemporary vision, in tune with an international audience.
Tazemza is a bridge between Tunisia and France: a brand nourished by two worlds, where tradition and modernity intertwine. It is also a social and artistic project that celebrates Tunisian roots while opening up to new perspectives, embodying dialogue, memory and transmission.
