Nutmeg Powder

Composition: Nutmeg Powder. Nutmeg is the Fruit of the Nutmeg tree, a tropical tree ten to fifteen meters high belonging to the Myristicaceae family. This tree gives the orange colored nutmeg flower. When this Fruit reaches maturity, it releases a kernel with a bright red membrane called Macis. This Macis contains a brown almond, it is nutmeg. It has a taste of pepper and cinnamon when grated. Nutmeg is a spice that is grated in very low doses to flavor purees, quiches, cold cuts, pastries and many other dishes cooked around the world. Like many spices, nutmeg is to be used sparingly (especially our spices which are very fresh and rich in essential oils) so as not to exceed the dose which gives flavor to that which takes away the taste. To be dosed in a pinch and follow your recipes carefully!
