South African wine imported exclusively! Young estate nestled in Franschhoek, 40 minutes from Cape Town. Located 160 km east of Cape Town in the Breede River Valley region. The dry and moderately warm climate of the region is optimal for producing top quality grapes. The high daytime temperature, i.e. the difference between the daily maximum and minimum temperature, helps cool the grapes sufficiently at night and facilitates an even dormant period during the cold winter months. Immersed in limestone-rich soils, the vineyards add chalky minerality and a gunflint finish to the wine, reminiscent of the great Chardonnays from Chablis in France.
