Keermont "Terrasse" - South Africa - White Wine 2020

South African wine imported exclusively! Extraordinary estate located between Stellenbosh and Cape Town. Terrasse is our barrel-aged white blend that takes its name from the terraced vineyards leading to the estate's mountains. We have six different white grape varieties planted on these terraces and each year we compose a unique blend according to what the year gives us. The base is Chenin blanc from three separate vineyards – our old Riverside vine block planted in 1971, the dryland bush vine Bobbejaan Wingerd (Baboon Vineyard) and the trellised Low Road vineyard. The other varietals add complexity and create a fuller wine. Chardonnay gives a little more weight on the palate, Sauvignon Blanc from our dry land vineyard "Uitkyk" (planted in 1988) brings fresh acidity, and the drops of Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier give this vintage a slight spicy and aromatic uplift.
