2022 Rheingau RIESLING fine dry "from the colorful slate" VDP.Estate wine

The grapes for this wine come from parcels where slate of various colors occurs. Depending on the dominant minerals in the soil, the color of the slate changes to grey, green or blue-purple. These parcels are located in the core of the "Hallgartener Hendelberg" and the (earlier - before 1971) "Hallgartener Deutelsberg". The vineyards are oriented to the south to south-west with a slope of up to 40%, so that the sunshine can be described as ideal. They are often shallow to medium deep and very easy to heat up. The slate absorbs the warming rays of the sun during the day and gives them back to the vines at night. The grapes for this wine were harvested in mid to late September. They were light green to golden yellow and ripe. After the harvest, the grapes were pressed directly and fermented for up to 8 weeks in stainless steel and left on the fine lees until January. The aging in a fine-tart style in particular promotes the fruitiness and fine balance typical of slate. Alcohol content: 12.0% contains sulphites
