2020 HALLGARTEN FRÜHERNBERG Riesling dry VDP. First location

The grapes for this wine were obtained from the fillet of the "Frühernberg" planted in 1971. The Frühernberg is a registered cadastral designation and part of the Hallgartener Schönhell. Medium-depth, slightly sandy and stony loess-loam soils predominate here. The vineyard itself is oriented directly to the south and heavily sloping, so that the sun exposure can be described as ideal. Due to the barren soil and the intense solar radiation, the vines grow only moderately and, in the case of drought, water stress occurs. The name "Früh (r) nberg" has two different meanings: due to the very good exposure, the entire development during the growing season is somewhat earlier than in comparable vineyards in Hallgarten. Historically, this vineyard was given to the respective early messengers as payment for holding the early mass and other activities. The (small) grapes were golden yellow and ripe, some also overripe with a very low proportion of raisin berries. They were pressed directly, fermented in stainless steel for about 8 weeks and left on the yeast until the beginning of March. 13.0 vol% alcohol
