The Sanger brand was born in 1952 from the desire of winegrowers to enhance the components of the Champagne terroir. These 16 winegrowers, mostly from the Montagne de Reims, decided to establish the Sanger winery in Avize. Sanger is located on 13 hectares spread across 42 crus representing the entire Champagne appellation, allowing our range to offer a tasting journey in Champagne. With 70% of our supplies being Grand Cru Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, we combine elegance, finesse, and character in our exceptional vintages. Our reserve wines, separated by cru and by year, are selected for their aging potential. They support our vintages over time and bring consistency to our style. To offer you mature vintages, respecting their origins and purity, we let time take its course while respecting the raw material: from the fruit to the oak from the Avize forest. “It is important for us to know where we come from in order to know where we are going, so that we can offer a range that reconciles tradition and modernity. Eco-responsible practices: The material and human resources allow for a more responsible approach to the land and winemaking techniques. The goal is to improve every day. The grapes delivered to Sanger are produced using responsible techniques, treatments are limited, the use of biotechnologies is favoured, pruning and cover cropping choices are adapted… In the cellars, long aging on lees is practiced, the objective being to intervene as little as possible. Organic certification was not requested, however the practices are similar. Cuvée Pères d’Origines This vintage Champagne was produced thanks to the first 16 students of the Sanger cooperative house. Subsequent generations wanted to pay tribute to them by naming them "Fathers of Origins". The vintage is 100% Grand Cru, with 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. The Chardonnay is grown on the Côte des Blancs in Avize and Oger. Pinot noir, meanwhile, comes from the Montagne de Reims in Verzy, Verzenay, Aÿ, Bouzy and Ambonnay. The draw took place in 2015. The dosage is 6 to 8 grams. The dosage is 4 g/L. The bottle contains 75 cl. This champagne will perfectly complement foie gras and tarte tatin.
