DESCRIPTION MAPLE SUGAR Origin: Canada Net volumes and weights: 50ml / 48g / 1.69oz This is maple syrup that has been dehydrated by heating it, then crushed into small nuggets. This natural sweetener is harvested by hand, it is unrefined and has a glycemic index of 50. On the palate we of course find the taste of maple syrup and its woody notes, of liquorice halfway between honey and caramel, with an added crunchy texture. Sugars have very different sweetening powers and very variable glycemic indices; the reference sugar, Glucose, has a maximum GI glycemic index of 100. Sucrose (table sugar) has a GI of 70. These two products are therefore prohibited for diabetics and are not friends of your slimming diet. Moreover, they undergo multiple treatments to make them “refined”, to make them whiter than white, but with a lot of chemicals! So choose the natural sugars that we offer you, they are clean, they have taste and lower GIs and will therefore be allies of your health. For example, coconut blossom sugar is only 25 to 35 and the absolute record holder for low GI is xylitol with a GI of 7. DIRECTIONS FOR USE It is ideal for sweetening hot drinks: teas, infusions, chocolate, grogs, and arranged rums. It will flavor your pies, crepes and pancakes, crumble, your yogurts and white cheeses.
