Organic Chestnut Pollen

Pollen originates in flowers, precisely on the terminal parts of the stamens called anthers. From here it disperses into the environment to carry out that important function that nature has entrusted to it, namely to settle on the stigma of another flower and fertilize the ovules. The flower will thus become fruit.    To do this, pollen relies on the wind or insects such as bees that transport it from flower to flower.       Pollen is the only protein food for bees, necessary to feed young larvae and to produce royal jelly. It is collected by foraging bees who mix it with honey and package it into balls on the side of the hind legs to transport it inside the hive. At the entrance to the hive, the beekeeper places a grid. The bees, passing through the holes, lose the larger pollen balls which fall into a collection drawer below.       PROPERTIES AND BENEFITS Bee pollen is a complete food. It contains the 8 essential amino acids present only in foods of animal origin and furthermore the proteins within it are of high quality, highly assimilable and free of metabolic waste. Other fundamental components are water, mineral salts, trace elements, fibre, vitamins and enzymes.    Thanks to its active ingredients, pollen can be used as a metabolic stimulant, to strengthen the immune system, protect the cardiovascular system, as an antioxidant and to support intestinal functioning.       COLD DEHUMIFICATION The problem of conserving pollen is given by the high quantity of water contained in it, which would lead to fermentation.    The pollen that is normally found on the market is dried at high temperatures, consequently the product loses its nutritional principles. Our organic pollen, on the other hand, is cold dehumidified. In this process a maximum temperature of 35°C is reached, the same temperature as the hive. By doing this the heat does not ruin the pollen and avoids its degradation. INDICATIONS FOR CONSUMPTION It is advisable to take the pollen on an empty stomach and chew well before ingesting, this facilitates digestion at the gastric level. The daily quantity is highly subjective, generally speaking, taking a spoonful on an empty stomach before breakfast is recommended as a general antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and to improve the functionality of the immune system.    It is not recommended to consume pollen no later than 4 pm, as its vitamin C content would risk keeping cellular metabolism active, which is no longer necessary at this time of the day.    the best way to take it is on its own. If it is difficult or unpleasant, you can dissolve it in a warm drink (milk, juice, not hot tea) or add it to yoghurt or spread it over honey or jam.
