Lavandin is a hybrid plant, derived from two natural species of lavender: fine lavender, Lavandula angustisfolia, and aspic lavender, Lavandula Latifolia. 

Very popular, it is cultivated well beyond Provence, in particular because its flower, fuller than that of fine lavender, provides a greater quantity of essential oil. 

Super lavender essential oil is distinguished by its more spicy and camphorous scent than that of fine lavender essential oil.
