Hypocras Spices

Hypocras is an ancient wine-based drink, sweetened and flavored with spices. It is a drink known throughout medieval Europe, where it was first called "claret" or "piment". Legend attributes its invention to the Greek physician Hippocrates. To infuse in 75 cl or 1 l of red wine. Either a Gamay for a very fruity preparation or a Côte du Rhône for character. Add two spoons of honey. Filter well. Can be kept for about 3 months after filtration. Try it also in 75 cl of rum, macerated for a maximum of one week.
