it is handcrafted by maceration of whole spices, honey from a local beekeeper and red wine in our wood-fired alcohol. 70 cl 15 degree Hypocras is a medieval drink made from wine in which various spices are macerated. Its invention is attributed (very hypothetically) to the Greek physician Hippocrates, who gave it its name. Loïc macerates whole or hand-grated natural spices in his homemade alcohol distilled over a wood fire, then after a few months he adds red wine and local honey. It is eaten at room temperature to accompany game, red meats and cheeses, and chilled as an aperitif. Our hypocras is unfiltered. After natural cold, a slight deposit may appear, without altering the quality. Non contractual photo.
