Artisanal mead 75cl - 13.5% honey wine

✔️Mead ✔️ Honey wine ✔️ Made in Normandy ✔️ 75cl bottle with an alcohol content of 13.5% Mead is undoubtedly the oldest alcoholic drink in the world, even predating wine, the divine liqueur of the inhabitants of Olympus in Greek mythology.                                        It is also found in Germanic mythology, and closer to us it is associated with the sacred acts of the Druids, a source of courage for the Celts and immortality for the Franks.                                        In Northern Europe a custom required newlyweds to drink only mead in the 30 days following the union: the honeymoon.  This legendary alcohol requires, for its production, the combination of three main ingredients to guarantee the quality of aromas and flavors: honey, water and yeast.  Selected quality honeys harvested “ripe” will be diluted in water to obtain a honey solution capable of fermenting.                                        The mead recipe relies on fermentation.                                        It is the long process of transformation of sugar into alcohol under the action of yeasts which takes place in vats and which requires all the vigilance of the brewer.  Subsequently, the fermented solution will be bottled to continue its aromatic evolution and thus give birth to mead.  We recommend serving it very cold, as an aperitif or at the end of a meal to accompany dessert.                                        Consumption temperature: 6 8°.
