Le Comptoir de Toamasina: An Aromatic Odyssey
In the north of France, a passion for exotic flavors germinated in the mind of a young man named Arnaud Sion. Fascinated by spices, teas from around the world and coffees from Minas Gerais, Arnaud created Le Comptoir de Toamasina in March 2010, with a simple but bold vision: to offer natural and healthy products, while supporting small producers.
Arnaud's adventure began in the Lille markets, where he shared his discovery: bourbon vanilla from Madagascar, a spice that captivated by its quality and its history. With each vanilla pod, Arnaud was not just selling a spice, but a story, a tradition, a piece of culture.
In September 2010, Arnaud left to train in vanilla cultivation and Black Gold selection in Madagascar for 1 month.
Over the years, Le Comptoir de Toamasina has become more than a business; it has become a spicy adventure, a bridge between cultures and continents.
Arnaud, affectionately nicknamed “Arnaud vanilla”, traveled around the world, from Madagascar to Brazil, via China, Vietnam and the United States, to learn about the selection of flavors from around the world, to learn everything about cultivation methods and how to select them.
Today, Le Comptoir de Toamasina is a family business that operates on two continents, with a deep commitment to quality and humanity.
In Brazil, we work with the Indians of the Amazon, our açai comes from an eco-responsible reforestation project, the guarana comes from Bahia in the Ilheus region for part of our exports.
Each product is carefully selected, each vanilla pod is prepared with love in the workshop in France.
Le Comptoir de Toamasina is not just a place to buy spices; it is a place to live a unique taste experience, where each flavor tells a story, and where each purchase supports the vision of a man who transformed his passion into an aromatic odyssey like no other.
