FENUGREEK SEED - eco

Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) is an annual plant of the Fabaceae family, native to North Africa and West Asia. Fenugreek seeds are commonly used as a spice and have a bittersweet flavor reminiscent of maple syrup. Fenugreek is used in the manufacture of aromatic spice mixes in Indian, African or Oriental cuisine. They can be roasted before being used. To do this, simply heat a skillet over medium heat, add the fenugreek seeds and toast them for 1-2 minutes until they begin to brown slightly and release their aroma. They can be used to flavor vegetable dishes, soups, stews, rice dishes and sauces. Simply add the whole or ground seeds to the preparation at the start of cooking to allow the flavors to diffuse into the dish. They can be added to rice dishes, vegetables, soups, stews and sauces. Ground fenugreek is widely used as an ingredient in spice blends, such as curry powder. They can be soaked in water and made into a paste used to flavor meat, fish or vegetable dishes. They are used to prepare pickles. This is done by soaking the seeds in salted water for a few hours, then cooking them in a solution of water, vinegar and spices before canning them. It's important to note that fenugreek should be used in moderation, as it has quite a strong flavor and can overpower other ingredients in a dish.
