Domaine Yann Chave: Domaine Yann Chave: “Organic farming brings the requirement in the search for balance. A triptych between observation, rigor and pleasure”. It was Yann's parents who started the adventure of the estate. They settled there at the very beginning of the 1970s with four hectares: one in vines, the other three intended for arboriculture. Then they continue to expand the estate while maintaining this double culture that marked the era. The first harvests are delivered to the local merchant and, from 1973, they vinify their first cuvées and then join the Cave Coopérative de Tain until 1978. The following year, Nicole and Bernard Chave create their own cellar. In 1996, Yann was 26 years old. With a DESS in Audit and Management Consulting in his pocket and freed from military obligations, he settled in the wine-growing part of the estate. Close to his vineyard, he restructured his vines and began tilling the soil. After being poisoned by an insecticide treatment, he sought an alternative solution and became involved in organic farming at the very beginning of the 2000s. The estate was certified in 2007. Today, the estate at the heart of the Crozes appellation -Hermitage consists of 20 ha including 1 ha 20 on the mythical Hermitage hill.
