Mantenera Secolare is our new born, it is produced from the Majatica and Ogliarola cultivars sweet olives with a dual aptitude for table and oil with a delicate and medium bitter taste green fruity herbaceous notes the Mantenera extra virgin olive oil manages to combine taste and ecological culture .  SLOW FOOD PRESIDIUM “The olive growers adhering to the National Presidium for Italian extra virgin olive oil must have olive groves of local cultivars managed without synthetic fertilizers and chemical herbicides.  For any treatments, products with low environmental impact are permitted, which guarantee a final residue on the product equal to zero.  In the case of slopes or complex landscape situations, field work must follow good agronomic practices to avoid erosion and land landslides.  Furthermore, since pruning or harvesting olives from centuries-old trees is much more expensive than young plants, to avoid the abandonment of older olive groves, the Presidium requires that at least 80% of the plants have a minimum age of 100 years.  Finally, producers must equip themselves with the narrative label to tell and enhance their story, their territory and their work.” Green fruity Medium bitterness Light pungent Acidity 0.3% Polyphenols 527 mg/kg Filtered
