Organic Yellow Mustard Seeds

Yellow mustard gives a sweet and warm flavor, which is released in combination with water, oil or vinegar. The seeds have a preservative effect and are therefore often used for the preparation of jams, but are also found in the preparations of vinaigrettes, chutneys and other glazes. It can be combined with brown mustard seeds for a stronger and more robust taste. Mustard seeds are one of the oldest and most widely used spices: the Chinese already used mustard several thousand years ago, as did the ancient Greeks who considered it a spice for everyday use. Whole seeds are often used for brine preparation. The mustard seeds are crushed and mixed with cold water to develop the essential oils (approx. 10 minutes). Only then are other flavor enhancers added, such as vinegar, oil, salt, cider, citrus juice and herbs. You can use mustard seeds directly, for example, in cabbage salads or vegetable dishes.
