Michel Foucault

Michel Foucault (1926–1984) was a French philosopher, historian of ideas, writer, political activist and literary critic. The theories he has developed are mainly about the relationship between power and knowledge, and how they are used as a form of social control through social institutions. These thoughts and theories have influenced academics, in everything from psychology and sociology to criminology and feminism. This bookend has been part of the series Radical Stands, which came about in a collaboration between TankeKraft förlag and Jan Landqvist. As of May 2022, Radical Stands are part of the Novellix bookend series. Industrial designer Jan Landqvist is responsible for the idea and design of Novellix bookends. The bookends are made in Gnosjö in Småland and are made of cut and bent sheet steel that has been treated with a black, durable powder coating. The dimensions are 15×15 cm for the portraits and 10×15 cm for the base plate. Designer: Landqvist, Jan
