Pentaceratops, whose name means "Five-horned face," is an extinct genus of herbivorous dinosaurs. Less famous than its cousin the Triceratops, this dinosaur with the impressive frill lived in North America towards the end of the Upper Cretaceous period. Long considered a dinosaur with 5 horns, which is why it got its name, it turns out that in reality it only had 3. The other 2 being simple outgrowths of the cheek bones.
