Jalapeno pepper

The Jalapeño pepper originates from Mexico where it is eaten fresh, dried, or smoked (in which case it is called a chipotle pepper). We offer it here as a green chili, that is to say harvested at a lower stage of maturity than the red chili. It is a moderately hot pepper, around 8000 units on the Scoville scale (equivalent to Tabasco sauce). This scale, created at the beginning of the 20th century, aims to measure the intensity of spiciness of peppers, in particular by evaluating the level of capsaicin, responsible for the sensation of heat.Origin: Mexico
