Chipotle takes its name from the Nahuatl chilpoctli, or pochilli, from the roots chil (chili) and poctli (smoked). In Scoville Units, our peppers are at 5000, so quite loaded with capsaicin which gives spiciness to the eyes and mustard to the nose;).
