Organic Ceylon Orange Pekoe

Fine highland blend with the typical character of a classic Ceylon tea. Dark, copper-colored cup with a very pleasantly tart, tangy note. Pleasantly round in taste, a tea for any time of the day. Ceylon - highland blend full of character Ceylon - "the darling of the British". Ceylon tea should actually be called Sri Lanka tea today, but due to its long history, the original country name was retained for tea. On this "island of the sun", tea cultivation can look back on a tradition of around 150 years - the Scottish pioneer James Taylor planted the first plants here in 1867. Today Sri Lanka is the fourth largest tea producer in the world. Tea plants thrive in all regions of the island, from the lowlands to the mountains at over 2,000 meters altitude. One of the best-known areas, Dimbula in the western highlands, has its quality peak in spring with its aromatic, sparkling teas. Uva, in the eastern highlands, produces the best quality in late summer with its unmistakable strong, tart "Uva note". In the middle of the central highlands lies the Nuwara Eliya area. Very fine, flowery-light qualities are produced here all year round. Much fuller-bodied teas grow in the "medium grown" growing region of Knady. And the low grown Ruhuna area produces strong qualities. Ceylon tea is not only very popular as a single-variety tea, but also an important component of famous blends such as the "English blend". There are only a few green tea and organic tea gardens in Sri Lanka. Our fine highland blend comes from here. 100% Ceylon tea from controlled organic cultivation.
