Organic Earl Grey

The classic among flavored black teas. The origin story of this tea is attributed to Charles Grey, II Earl of Gray in England in the 1830s. Named after Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey, who, as British Prime Minister, did much for the free tea trade by breaking the East India Company's tea price monopoly. There are many stories about how this tea was "invented". The most plausible seems to be the "accident load" variant. In a violent storm, barrels of the precious bergamot oil burst and the oil spilled over a delivery of tea. Before this tea was declared not for sale, it was first tried - and one was surprised by the pleasant taste. This is how this tea came on the market and has been a classic of tea culture ever since. There are countless Earl Gray teas, precisely because of the different tea blends and the diverse qualities of the bergamot oil. The decisive factor is the mixture and which tea suits the respective aroma. Our tea is based on a harmonious blend of South Indian, Ceylon and China black tea, which is not too dark in the cup, refined with a natural and very high-quality bergamot oil.
