Dried (whole, toasted, slivered, pounded, in paste, cream or milk), the seed is eaten as it is and is used in the preparation of many cakes, cookies, candies and confectionery (dragee, praline, nougat, marzipan); it accompanies fish, meat and various preparations (couscous, stuffings, mixed butters).
