
Vinkara winery has been active in the Turkish wine landscape since 2003 and nowadays produces high-quality wines on 62 hectares, mainly based on indigenous grape varieties from Turkey. The small town of Kalecik, home to the indigenous grape variety Kalecik Karası, is located northeast of the capital Ankara. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 600 meters and are surrounded by mountains and the Kızılırmak River. Due to the river Kızılırmak, the continental climate and at this altitude a milder climate suitable for vines, leading to high acidity and complexity in the wines. The grapes were harvested exclusively by hand. The Pinot Noir of Turkey! Doruk Kalecik Karası was produced on site from the company's vineyards in Kalecik, the homeland of the grape.
