Upcycling wall art elephant made from flip flops

A real piece of wilderness... ...brings this colorful elephant head to any wall, whether in the living room, office or lounge. And the great thing is, it's made from 100% recycled flip-flops. The Kenyan organization OceanSole collects the sandals that have washed up on the coasts of Africa and has local artists use them to create colorful design objects, which at the same time avoid masses of rubber waste. In addition, the people employed at OceanSole from Nairobi and various Kenyan areas have fair and long-term career prospects. The wall decoration consists of colorful, processed sandal rubber. Even the trunk, ears and eyes were made from the material! The elephant head measures approx. 20 x 50 x 50 cm and weighs almost 1 kg. It was made from 34 flip flops. Each product is handmade and therefore unique. The appearance and nature of the material can therefore vary slightly.
