Upcycling wall art lion made from flip flops

Well roared... …Lion! That's the first thought we have of this colorful lion head hanging on the wall, and no matter the space, it's sure to make an exceptional focal point. The great thing is that it is made from 100% recycled flip-flops. The Kenyan organization OceanSole collects the sandals that have washed up on the coasts of Africa and has local artists use them to create colorful design objects, which at the same time avoid masses of rubber waste. In addition, the people employed at OceanSole from Nairobi and various Kenyan areas have fair and long-term career prospects. The wall decoration consists of colorful, processed sandal rubber. Even the mane, ears and eyes were made from the material! The lion has a length of 30 cm and a diameter of 20 cm. It was made from 34 flip flops. Each product is handmade and therefore unique. The appearance and nature of the material can therefore vary slightly.
