Black Bottle whiskey is first and foremost a luxury Blend with its 45% malt content. Its robustness and unique finesse make it the equal of many Single Malts.
Black Bottle has a long history that begins with the research of Master Blender, Gordon Graham. The latter worked night and day on his new creation. Satisfied with the result, Gordon Graham served a drink to his brothers one evening. They were amazed. The air was fragrant with a rich blend of aromas - fresh and deep floral scents, woody, spicy and delicately smoky notes. The tasting was a success. Black Bottle was born. His family recipe has been a secretly guarded gem for over 130 years.
For the new 2014 edition, the ""Master Blender"", Ian MacMillan, was inspired by the original Graham family recipe. The very subtle peat blends in perfectly with the richness of the whole. Its taste is distinct, rich and very delicately smoky, with a nice power on the finish.
