This coffee bean from Ecuador is sensual. Notes of nuts, orange, toast and honey. It is a specialty coffee produced in the region of Zamora, Palanda. -The terroir Palanda coffee is grown at an altitude of 1,500 meters in the province of Zamora, in the heart of a semi-tropical humid zone. This region, located near the Poducarpus National Park, is home to exceptional biodiversity. The environment, dominated by century-old trees, offers ideal conditions for the slow ripening of coffee cherries. Local producers also practice diversified agriculture, growing tropical fruits such as papaya, banana, orange, as well as food crops such as cassava, corn, cocoa and sugar cane. At the same time, they are developing beehives for honey production, thus contributing to the diversity of their agricultural activities. - The producers APECAP (Agro-artisanal Association of Ecological Coffee Producers of Palanda) brings together around 200 small producers in the canton of Palanda, located in the south of Ecuador. This association is part of FAPECAFES (Federation of Associations of Small Producers of Ecological Coffee of the South), which works to improve the quality of coffee in the region. APECAP encourages its members to diversify their crops in order to stabilize their income and improve their food security. Besides coffee, they produce honey and grow a wide range of tropical fruits and vegetables, enabling them to better meet their daily needs. Through social and agricultural initiatives, the association also ensures that future generations can perpetuate coffee production while making a decent living from this activity. - Drying method The coffee is processed wet, using the so-called "washed" method, which allows the beans to be carefully extracted, ensuring better quality in the cup. - Varieties The varieties grown in this region include Caturra, Bourbon and Typica, known for their finesse and aromatic complexity. - Labels This coffee is certified by the SPP label (Symbol of Peasant Producers), guaranteeing fair trade and fair remuneration for producers.
